Spectrum Track Toggle

Controls: Spectrum Dialog >> Track >> Track On/Off
Macro: SpectTrack

When the Track option is active, the solid cursor is automatically positioned over the largest spectral peak at all times. The background of the cursor position readout/control is tinted pink as a reminder that you will not be able to move the solid cursor manually. The dotted cursor is not affected, unless you have also activated Fundamental plus Harmonic tracking.

If no peak is detected (if the signal peaks are below the Track Threshold or outside the Max/Min Frequency limits), the solid cursor moves to 0.

You can toggle Track at any time via the ALT+4 accelerator key. As a reminder, note that the $ which shares the top-row '4' key can be thought of as a vertical cursor line with a "wiggle" S symbol over it.

Note that Track (as well as Peak) is automatically activated (and locked on) when Spectrogram Pitch Track is active.

Besides the pink tinted cursor readout, the current Track state is also indicated by the Track button in the Spectrum dialog.

Macro Notes:

SpectTrack=1 sets Spectrum Track mode, SpectTrack=0 turns it off, and SpectTrack=x toggles between on and off.

When Cursor Peak is also active, Posn?F returns the tracked frequency, Posn?N returns the corresponding MIDI note number for Pitch Track operation, Posn?V returns the peak magnitude (scaled such that 2^30 is 100% of the full-scale range), and Posn?v returns the corresponding MIDI velocity.
