Spectrum Toggle From Dialog

Macro: Spect

Within the Spectrum dialog, the Spectrum button toggles Spectrum display mode on and off. This performs the same function as the one on the toolbar.

When Spectrum is toggled on it replaces the prior mode, either waveform or Spectrogram / Pitch Track (Sgram/PT). When Spectrum is toggled off, the mode always reverts to waveform.

The display is in waveform mode by default on startup.

The spectrum display is derived from a 1024-point FFT (Fast Fourier Transform), which provides the equivalent of 512 equally-spaced filters over the frequency range from 0 hertz (DC) to half the sample rate. (Half the sample rate is commonly referred to as the Nyquist frequency.)


Macro Notes:

Spect=1 activates Spectrum mode, Spect=0 restores waveform display mode, and Spect=x toggles between them.
