Color And Style Applications

Controls: Edit Menu >> Colors & Line Styles

Besides using the Colors & Line Styles features to customize Daqarta for your own preferences, you can also use them for special applications.

Simply increasing Line Width can be helpful for large audiences, even if you are already using a large monitor or projector.

Increased Line Width is also a handy way to create "thumbnail" images where the lines survive shrinkage and still remain visible. Consider the image at the start of the Colors & Line Styles topic, with Line Width set to 3:

If this screen capture is opened in Windows Paint (for example) and shrunk to 25% of the original size, the lines are still clearly visible, as shown on the left image below. The equivalent operation where the original used a Line Width of 1 gives the thumbnail on the right... not very useful:

Note that the lines on the left would be even clearer if they were solid colors.

Another application is preparing manuscripts for black-and-white print publication. Daqarta includes BW_Style_3.RGB as an example, which was applied to the original color image above to get:

The included Gray_Style_3.RGB shows an alternative approach to this, also applied to the original image:
