Save Notes Text Controls: Edit Menu >> Run Preferences >> Save Notes Text
When this box is unchecked (default), each Daqarta session starts with an empty Notes area. It is thus ready to accept notes about a new test or experiment, which will be saved with any .DQA data file. When this box is checked, the text in the Notes area is saved at the end of a Daqarta session and is restored in the next session. This is useful as a reminder of the last test run in the prior session, especially if it was a while ago. You could then manually delete or edit this text to get ready for the new test. For example, if you had been running a series of tests where you change one or more parameters on each test, this would allow you to recall where you left off so nothing was omitted or repeated. Another use for Save Notes Text is to maintain a simple running journal of experiments. In this scenario, you would not delete the old Notes text, just add new text for each new experiment. If you put the new text at the top, you always see the most recent entry when you start a session, and you can scroll down for older. You may want to start each entry with CTRL+ALT+D to enter the current date, and/or CTRL+ALT+T to enter the current time. See Date/Time Preferences to set the date and time formats. Be aware that the Notes area is limited to a total size of 2047 characters, including Enter keys for new lines. See also Notes Edit, Run Preferences Dialog |
