Use Vol/dB from .GEN

Controls: Edit Menu >> Run Preferences >> Vol/dB from GEN
Macro: PrefGenVol

When this box is checked (default), loading a Generator setup (.GEN file) will cause the mixer output Left and Right Wave volumes to be set according to the file values. If the box is unchecked, the volumes will remain unchanged. In that case, the new setup will show the current volumes instead of those it was originally saved with.

This operation applies to the automatically-loaded initial Setup.GEN file, as well as to any other setup loaded manually during a Daqarta session.

You may want keep this box checked for running standard test setups that must always start with certain levels. Each setup can have a different level, which will automatically be set when you load it.

On the other hand, you may want all setups to run at the current level regardless of the levels they were saved with. That might be the case, for example, for comparisons of sounds which have the same average energy but different spectra. The test level may be adjusted with one signal according to the subject's individual threshold of hearing. Then subsequent tests using other setups will have that same level.
