Windows Screen Saver Controls: Edit Menu >> Run Preferences >> Screen Saver
This box is unchecked by default to indicate that the Windows Screen Saver will not be invoked while Daqarta is running and visible. Windows normally monitors operator actions, and after a period of inactivity (specified in My Computer - Control Panel - Display - Screen Saver - Wait minutes), the display reverts to whatever image or program you have designated as the screen saver. This can be quite disconcerting when you are using Daqarta to monitor ongoing input or output signals, and you suddenly find that the screen is full of bouncing balls or baby photos instead of your data. But if you have some reason to want the screen saver, just set this box to checked. If Daqarta is minimized, this control has no effect and the screen saver will activate normally. Important: If this control is unchecked to prevent the screen saver from activating, it also blocks automatic screen blanking or system suspension which otherwise happen after the periods of inactivity specified in My Computer - Control Panel - Power Options. However, automatic blanking / suspension is only blocked if there is an active input or output process, such as Generator, Input, Synth, or Pitch-to-MIDI (including DaqMusiq and KaleidoSynth). Otherwise, blanking / suspension proceeds normally. See also Run Preferences Dialog |
