+/-Note

Controls: Sgram/PT Dialog >> Pitch-to-MIDI >> Setup
Changes: nv=n

After Pitch Track notes reach a given MIDI Voice Setup, various Range and Scale operations may be performed that can select or adjust which note will be played. The +/-Note control adds a final (usually... but see below) adjustment that shifts the overall note up or down by a specified number of MIDI notes (semitones).

You can set +/-Note so that one voice tracks another at a fixed pitch distance. For example, if you set +/-Note on one voice to 0, another to +4, and yet another to +7, assuming the voices have the same Range and Scale settings, they will form a tracking major chord... even if they use different instruments. (If you want a tracking chord using the same instrument, it is much easier to do with the Chord Pattern.)

Or +/-Note can be used to shift the performance pitch range, so that a piccolo input is performed in the tuba range.

The +/-Note setting behaves differently if Note PreScale is active. In that case, +/-Note is applied before Scale, allowing Scale to choose the nearest note that fits the selected scale. This typically leads to a different sequence of notes, compared to the non-PreScale operation.

Note: The +/-Note control is disabled when Tempo Mode is set to Percussion, since incoming notes are ignored.

MIDI Changes Script:

Use nv=n to set +/-Note for Voice v to the value of n, which may be any signed integer or valid expression, including current MIDI control values, random values, current computer keyboard states or mouse position, input or buffered notes, or oscillators. Values will be limited to a +/-63 note range.

For example, n2=-12 will set Voice 2 an octave (12 semitones) lower.

You can use "voice" 9 to set all 8 voices at once.
