Macro Edit Save

Controls: Options >> Macro Dialog >> Edit >> Save

Hit this to save the newly-created or edited macro. If there are no errors in the macro, the Macro Edit dialog will close, and the new macro entry will appear highlighted in the list box, with its ID shown in the ID control below, ready to Run or re-edit.

If there are errors in the macro, the Macro Edit dialog will remain visible and a descriptive error message will be shown. Errors may arise from omission of Name or Definition fields, or from attempting to create a new macro using an ID or Name that already exists.

 'Macro ID already in use.'
 'Macro Name required.'
 'Macro Name already in use.',
 'Macro Definition required.'

There may also be errors in the Definition of the macro itself:

 'Missing or invalid macro name.'
 'Macro Name not found.'
 'Macro channel/stream prefix error.'
'Macros nested more than 16 deep.'
 'Control disabled. Aborting macro.'
'Macro Radio button name not found.'

If you define a macro that calls itself, or that calls another macro that calls the first one, etc, that will not cause an error when you save the definition. But you will get a 'Macros nested more than 16 deep.' error when you run it.

If you Edit an existing macro and change the ID or Name, you will also be asked if this is to become a New macro (in addition to the prior one). If not, it is assumed you want to replace the prior:

Macro ID/Name changed. Save as New?
 (No = Rename existing.)
