Spectrum Track Max and Min Frequencies Controls: Spectrum Dialog >> Track >> Max/Min Frequency
These controls allow you to limit the Track action to a specified frequency range, to prevent tracking of spurious or interfering signals. This is especially useful for Spectrogram Pitch Track operation. In that case, you will probably want to set these limits the same as the eXpand limits in the X-Axis dialog (and make sure X-Axis is toggled on). Note that the same Track frequency limits apply in Spectrum, Spectrogram, and Spectrogram Pitch Track modes, but there are separate eXpand limits for each of these. The Max and Min frequencies assume the current sample rate. If you change the sample rate, the Max and Min values will change proportionally. Thus, you should always set the sample rate before setting Max and Min. Note that these control values are saved to and loaded from MIDI Setup (.DQM) files. Loading a new MIDI Setup may change these values. Macro Notes: TrackMax=5k will set the upper limit to the spectral line nearest 5000 Hz. TrackMin=500 will set the lower limit to the spectral line nearest 500 Hz. TrackMax=>1 will increment the upper limit by one spectral line. TrackMax=>-1 will decrement by one spectral line. RM=n sets the Spectrum (Pitch) Track Max frequency to n Hz, where n can be any integer or valid Changes script expression. This may consist of MIDI control values (including RM), random values, current computer keyboard states or mouse position, input or buffered notes, oscillators, or User Variables. Similarly, Rm=n sets the Min frequency. Note that unlike the TrackMax and TrackMin macros, RM and Rm use only integer Hz.
