Track Limits and Threshold Color

Controls: Sgram/PT Dialog >> Track Limits
Macro: SgTrackDlg

This button in the Pitch Track portion of the Spectrogram dialog opens the same Spectrum Track dialog as the Track button in the Spectrum dialog. It is provided here as a convenience, since these settings are important to Pitch Track operation.

When used with Pitch Track, the cursor readouts show the current frequency and peak amplitude of the signal component which is assumed to be the pitch, even though the cursors themselves are only visible in Spectrum mode.

To the left of the Track Limits button is the Threshold Color status box, which also appears next to the Threshold control in the Spectrum Track dialog, and in the Pitch Track Key Colors section of the Spectrogram Color Palette dialog.

The color corresponds to the current Track Threshold using the current color palette and the current Spectrogram sensitivity range. Compare this color to the vertical color bar at the right end of the Spectrogram (or Pitch Track) display to see the minimum loudness that will activate the tracker on the current range. If you change the range (by dragging the vertical color bar, or by using PgUp or PgDn, with or without SHIFT, or by direct entry into the top and bottom controls to the right of the color bar) the threshold color will change accordingly.

See Spectrum Cursor Track Dialog for more information.

Macro Notes:

If the Spectrogram Control dialog is open, SgTrackDlg=1 opens the Spectrum Track dialog, SgTrackDlg=0 closes is, and SgTrackDlg=x toggles between open and closed.

Alternatively, when the Spectrum control dialog is open, SpectTrackDlg=1 opens the Spectrum Track dialog, SpectTrackDlg=0 closes it, and SpectTrackDlg=x toggles between open and closed.

Note that you do not need to open the Spectrum Track dialog to change its controls directly via macro commands.
